Dietary Preventative/Healing Guidelines – Regular exercise is very important in moving any stagnation of the liver to reduce skin toxin elimination symptoms. Yoga and tai chi are forms of exercise that also quiet the mind, so they are very useful when facing skin irritation problems. Remove toxins, additives, and chemicals from both your environment and your food as much as possible. These can either cause or exasperate the symptoms of eczema. Remove aggravating processed foods, processed sugars, deep-fried foods, artificial colors or flavors, MSG, genetically modified foods, coffee, alcohol, black and green teas, and common allergens like dairy, gluten, corn, alkalized cocoa or chocolate, eggs, citrus fruits, and soy. If you aren’t sure if you have an allergy, eliminate any likely allergens and then reintroduce one at a time, using the process of elimination to see if you react to any of them.
Increase intake of foods or supplements with essential fatty acids, like avocados, nuts, seeds, fish, evening primrose oil, wheat germ oil, flax oil, and fermented cod liver oil. Increase foods or supplements with vitamins A, B, C, and zinc. These include fruits, veggies, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds. Consume raw or sprouted foods where possible. Also be sure to get lots of dark leafy greens by eating plenty of salad, making a green drink smoothie, and taking a chlorophyll supplement. Noni juice is also a helpful supplement to be drinking.
Increase fresh air intake and sunshine by getting outside more. Be careful not to get too much direct sun, as that can agitate the skin. Eliminate any constipation that may be adding to toxin buildup and aggravating the eczema symptoms. Find foods to balance the pH level of the body, and consider trying an alkalinizing regimen or pure alkalinized drinking water. Reduce stress and anxiety as much as possible, as these also will exacerbate eczema symptoms. Exercise daily; enough to produce a good sweat to clean out the pores, but make sure to keep your skin clean so the pores don’t get clogged with that junk once it is released.
Also avoid agitating metals such as nickel in jewelry. Stick with surgical stainless steel and avoid sudden changes of temperature or humidity, which often cause agitation. Use only hypoallergenic makeup, or just make your own. Sometimes even homemade makeups will agitate the skin. If this is the case, be sure to make or buy only pure mineral makeup products. Homemade makeup recipes are in the companion book The Pampered Green and Clean Life: Recipes for a Healthy Body & Home.
Useful Essential Oils – melaleuca, geranium, Roman chamomile, 100% pure melissa, myrrh, wild orange, thyme, lavender, lemon, oregano, ginger, eucalyptus, rosemary, helichrysum, bergamot, peppermint, clove, cypress, rose, manuka, sage, ravensara, niaouli
Useful Homeopathy – Natrum muriaticum 30c (3 tablets 3x per day for a week), Nitricum acidum (ulcers that bleed easy and look raw), Borax 30c (small red ulcers, worse with salt or acid – take every 15 minutes), Hydrastis (sticky saliva, swollen tongue), Propolis tincture (applied directly or as mouthwash to speed healing)
Useful Herbs & Other Methods – kelp powder (great in capsules and in shakes), 500 milligram lysine tablets (1 or 2 a day while symptoms persist), apple cider vinegar, echinacea, pau d’arco, red clover, goldenseal (only use for a week at a time)
Dietary Preventative/Healing Guidelines – Eliminate or reduce the foods high in arginine: processed alkalized chocolate (replace with raw cacao), nuts, and gelatin. Some other foods that might need to be reduced are coconut, barley, oats, wheat, gluten, pasta, brussels sprouts. When eaten in whole-food form or with a good variety of other foods these are rarely a problem, but each person is different, and there is the potential for these foods to cause a reaction. Eat more foods high in lysine, like raw milk, yogurt (for probiotics), soybeans, and certain meats. Eat seaweeds and kelp. Eat more raw fruits and vegetables; drink fresh-pressed juice and green smoothies. Eliminate all processed foods. Increase consumption of vitamins B and C. Avoid excess heat and stress.
Reduce any possible stressors and consistently give yourself reassuring and confidence-boosting affirmations. As silly as it sounds, this really does seem to boost the immune system. Some stress-relief options can include meditation, yoga, tai chi, walks, and whatever soothing hobbies you enjoy. Consider doing a liver cleanse. If cold sores are a common occurrence for you, it is a wise idea to be checked by a doctor for possible low thyroid function.
Useful Essential Oils – Roman chamomile, lavender, helichrysum, melaleuca, eucalyptus, sandalwood, myrrh, patchouli, peppermint, lemon, wild orange, rosemary, geranium, cypress, carrot seed, ravensara, spikenard
Useful Herbs & Other Methods – shea butter, baking soda, plantain, comfrey, calendula infused oil, apple cider vinegar, marigold

Tannic acid is available from the tannins in black tea. Use it on the outside of feet for excess sweat. Switch to socks made from perspiration-wicking fabrics, so feet don’t stay so damp from sweat, and change socks frequently.
Dietary Preventative/Healing Guidelines – Eat plenty of garlic or take some aged garlic capsules. These garlic capsules give you the health effects of garlic without the smell. Increase vitamin A and make sure to supplement with a high-quality whole-food-derived multivitamin and a trace-mineral formula. Take a chlorophyll supplement. (This really helps the body get what it needs so it doesn’t let off so much stink). Keep good hygiene and go barefoot whenever possible to air out the feet. “Let your feet breathe,” as my mother would always say.
Useful Essential Oils – melaleuca, wild orange, frankincense, myrrh, sandalwood, lavender, melissa, rosemary, cypress, lemongrass, clove, basil, geranium, clary sage, rose, citrus oils, bergamot, Roman chamomile, lemon, grapefruit, eucalyptus, marjoram, oregano, thyme, peppermint, cinnamon, fennel, galbanum, manuka

Dietary Preventative/Healing Guidelines – An overload of toxins can be one of the factors in aggravating and possibly even causing cysts and lumps. It is highly recommended to do at least a short cleanse. Eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables. Some steamed is okay too. Drink at least 2 quarts of water a day and drink herbal teas to enhance the immune systems in fighting these off even more. Eliminate processed flours, sugars, and other processed foods and replace them with whole foods.
Drink fresh-pressed juice or freshly made smoothies daily. Red currant juice has many immune enhancing, pH-balancing, and disinfecting qualities that can support your effort to get rid of a cyst. Include some garlic in the meals you eat or take an aged garlic supplement that doesn’t alter the smell of your breath. Eat more fruits and vegetables that are specifically high in beta-carotene, such as apricots, peaches, pink sweet potatoes or yams (not the white ones), carrots, collard greens, kale, raw spinach, pumpkin, cantaloupe, beet greens, squash, romaine lettuce, pink grapefruit, mango, dark green lettuces, broccoli, brussels sprouts.
Never pop these kinds of lumps, and keep them very clean. If a cyst opens up, the bacteria or infection inside can move and transfer to nearby pores and areas of the body it touches. Believe me, you don’t want to cause more trouble for yourself from your cysts multiplying.
I have not been able to find any studies that show for a fact why you would get your first cyst, or get a lump in a specific area of your body. My theory is that you are more likely to get cysts or other lumps in areas of the body where you have built up and stored your negative emotions from life. Negative emotions create neuropeptides which alter body chemistry and physically stay in your body unless you remove them.
These neuropeptides formed via negative emotions of sadness or anger will actually flow through your bloodstream, from neuron to neuron, and then enter cells throughout the body. Positive emotions create neuropeptides that will actually strengthen your cells. However, the negative ones weaken your cells, causing your immune system to take a big hit (Lawton et al. 2012). This means your undesirable emotions can cause big problems in localized areas. These areas could get hit with numerous possible problems, including cysts or lumps, that those weak cells just don’t have the strength to prevent.
Other Therapies to Remove Buildup - Be sure to do the hypno-healing from this chapter, but other emotional release techniques may also be helpful for this. Try muscle testing therapy like the Emotion Code. This was such a powerful release for me. Also consider color therapy. Kinesiologists and other types of energy workers may be helpful in releasing that pent-up harmful energy. With energy work, when you release negative energy, you can let it go and feel great. However, unless you know how to replace that same area with positive energy and reverse the negative imbalance the body is used to, you can revert back to the old energy. It may come as a feeling of tightness or heaviness in that area within a very short period of time unless you have something positive to replace the negative with. This is why it is best to acknowledge what experience caused the false belief that is affecting your health in a specified area of your body.
Know that everyone has a purpose and we are each needed on the earth. Even though there are a lot of us, no two people can accomplish the same mission in quite the same way. We all need each other’s uniqueness. We each have unique perspectives and a unique way of being. The people that have made this world great were the ones unafraid to be themselves, even when conflict arose. You are one of those great ones. Though you may not invent anything (or maybe you will), you leave a lasting impact on every person you meet or smile at, every person you speak with, and every person who gets to know the deeper you.
Going to the Doctor – When dealing with any bump protruding from the skin, be sure you know what it is for sure. If it is a simple problem like an abscess or boil, it can usually be solved very quickly by boosting the immune system and applying a home-remedy treatment. Altering stress factors and food can play a big role for even the smallest of cysts. There are, however, some types of bumps and cysts that should be looked at by a dermatologist (a doctor specialized in skin care). This type of doctor can tell you if your condition is normal. They will identify what it is and if it is dangerous or cancerous or should be removed. I was not allowed to do surgery for the removal of my cyst when I was pregnant, so in my story, I spoke of my at-home removal. This was what I had to do to get rid of infection, and I don’t regret it. That cyst is still there today (however without infection), and I either need to help my body get what it needs to fight it off or go back to the dermatologist for surgery. I do not recommend doing what I did at home.
Useful Essential Oils – melaleuca, frankincense, helichrysum, basil, clove, cinnamon, thyme, oregano, lemongrass, lemon, bergamot, eucalyptus, rosemary, cypress, cedarwood, tagetes, manuka
Useful Homeopathy – Thuja occidentalis (2 times per day for 2 weeks)
Useful Herbs & Other Methods – garlic oil, dandelion milk, thuja infused oil (also known as yellow cedar oil), astragalus tea, thuja tincture (Paint the tincture liquid over your wart 2 times per day for 2 weeks.)
Dietary Preventative/Healing Guidelines – Supplement with vitamin E and vitamin G. Be sure to include fresh garlic in cooking to prevent and heal warts, as it is very boosting for the immune system to fight the virus that causes warts. If you get a wart, lemons are an excellent fighting agent. Try a homemade lemonade cleanse for a few days, or at least drink a glass of freshly pressed lemon juice as fresh lemonade often. To make it, squeeze juice of half a lemon, add a tablespoon grade B maple syrup, and just a pinch of cayenne pepper powder. Fill the rest of your 8-ounce glass with water. You won’t be disappointed. This drink is nutritious and delicious: a huge immune system booster to aid in wart reduction. You can also put lemon juice directly onto the wart, though ingesting it while using the essential oils may be more effective.
Useful Essential Oils – rosemary, lemongrass, melaleuca, lavender, marjoram, wintergreen, Roman chamomile, white fir, basil, cypress, clove, peppermint, grapefruit, ginger, carrot seed, tagetes
Useful Herbs & Other Methods – St. John’s wort, arnica, cayenne, comfrey, chickweed, plantain, bromelain/pineapple, turmeric, capsicum cream
Dietary Preventative/Healing Guidelines – Make sure you’re getting enough vitamin A as well as wearing shoes that fit properly, with wider toes. Sit on cushioned chairs instead of firm chairs if you have to sit for long periods of time. Make sure you are exercising to strengthen your joints, and take breaks often while doing long, repetitive tasks.
Useful Essential Oils – lavender, melaleuca, helichrysum, Roman chamomile, eucalyptus, rosemary, carrot seed, tagetes, petitgrain, ravensara
Useful Homeopathy – Antimonum crudum, Ruta graveolens
Useful Herbs & Other Methods – comfrey, plantain, chickweed
Dietary Preventative/Healing Guidelines – Get enough protein in your diet, as well as vitamins A, E, and the omegas (the essential fatty acids). Make sure your shoes are a proper fit to avoid an ingrown toenail. While dealing with an ingrown toenail, wear open-toed shoes or go barefoot. Remove nail polish from the ingrown nail and don’t reapply until it is completely healed. Be sure not to allow the nail to come in contact with chemicals or detergents, as these may cause infection. When clipping your toenails, clip the ends are straight across. You can unintentionally bring on ingrown nails by cutting your nails in a deep curve and cutting too close to the cuticle. Following a few preventative steps at home can help you avoid infection, but if an infection or excess of pain arises, be sure to see a doctor, as sometimes these can be quite complicated to fully eradicate.
Useful Essential Oils – melaleuca, cypress, lavender, Roman chamomile, helichrysum, eucalyptus radiata, myrrh, lemongrass, rose, marjoram, thyme, frankincense, peppermint, geranium, patchouli, niaouli
Useful Herbs & Other Methods – slippery elm, goldenseal, marigold infused oil, pink sea salt, chickweed, plantain, comfrey, apple cider vinegar, barley, yellow dock, marjoram, pennyroyal, poke root, buckthorn bark ointment, origanum, virgin’s bower, rose infused oil or rose water
Dietary Preventative/Healing Guidelines – Make sure to be eating plenty of foods that contain essential fatty acids and omegas. Some of these foods are fish, avocado, nuts, and seeds. If you’re supplementing for the omegas, some options are fermented cod liver oil, flax oil, wheat germ oil, and evening primrose oil. Be sure to be eating immune-enhancing foods such as garlic, and balance nutritious foods. Drink lots of water. Vitamin B is also helpful. If chafing is being caused from rubbing like my chafing was, then wear closer-fit clothes that tightly cover the area being rubbed. If the cause is fungal-like jock rash, or if it is a heat rash, then it is best to wear loose clothing so the area will stay dry and open to air circulation. Keep cool, dry, clean, and hydrated.
Useful Essential Oils – melaleuca, geranium, lavender, myrrh, Roman chamomile, patchouli, eucalyptus, thyme, melissa, peppermint, bergamot, sandalwood, frankincense, rose, vetiver, ravensara, manuka, niaouli, palmarosa, cajeput, spikenard
Useful Herbs & Other Methods – chickweed, calendula, slippery elm powder, garlic infused oil, black walnut hull tincture, Dr. Christopher’s X-Ceptic tincture, Dr. Christopher’s BF&C tincture, powder, or ointment; goldenseal powder, myrrh powder, apple cider vinegar, red clover blossoms tea, chickweed tea, burdock root, yellow dock root, hyssop, sanicle, blue violet, plantain, echinacea, beech, bittersweet, buckthorn bark, elder, bloodroot, dandelion, sassafras, sarsaparilla, spikenard, witch hazel bark, boric acid
Dietary Preventative & Healing Guidelines – Build up the immune system by eating garlic in meals or taking garlic capsules as well as having a highly nutritious and well-balanced meal plan full of fruits, veggies, whole grains, seeds, healthy omega oils, trace minerals, and plenty of water to drink. Specifically, citrus fruits are helpful for skin conditions. Avoid highly acidic foods, processed foods, additives, preservatives, food coloring, wheat products, and white sugar. Avoid drinking carbonated soda, dairy, black or green tea, coffee, and alcohol. A short cleansing program may help the body in fighting these skin conditions. To increase health and circulation, be sure to exercise each day, even simply walking 20 minutes a day. Keep good hygiene to prevent the infection from spreading.
As there are many, many different types of skin diseases and infections, I have listed oils by the potential causes of the conditions: bacterial, fungal, and viral.
Anti-Bacterial – To help Impetigo, MRSA, Staph, and Psoriasis – melaleuca, lavender, thyme, cinnamon, lime, lemongrass, helichrysum, geranium, rosemary, clove, oregano, rosemary, cypress, basil, cassia, lemon, eucalyptus, grapefruit, marjoram, clary sage, lavender, frankincense, wild orange, peppermint (not for staph)
Antifungal – To help Ringworm, Candida, Thrush, Impetigo, Psoriasis – melaleuca, myrrh, oregano, thyme, cinnamon, clove, lavender, peppermint, rosemary, lemon, patchouli, lemongrass, geranium, eucalyptus, cypress
Anti-Viral – To help Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease, Herpes, Warts, Papilloma – helichrysum, melaleuca, clove, melissa, lime, cinnamon, lemon, oregano, peppermint, eucalyptus, thyme, wild orange, grapefruit, clary sage, myrrh, geranium, lavender, sandalwood, rosemary, cypress
Other Causes of Skin Infections/Diseases – Mites, Insects, Nutrient Deficiencies and Imbalances, Skin Enzyme Imbalances, Food Allergies or Sensitivities, Poor Circulation, Too Much Sun, or Getting Too Cold – The oils in this chapter’s list of Useful Essential Oils may help.
Useful Essential Oils – melaleuca, lavender, helichrysum, cypress, Roman chamomile, myrrh, bergamot, geranium, wintergreen, rosemary, lemongrass, lemon, wild orange, patchouli, sandalwood, frankincense, peppermint, clary sage (don’t use clary sage if you have hypertension or epilepsy, or in some stages of pregnancy), dill (topically diluted or internally), yarrow
Useful Herbs & Other Methods – cayenne pepper powder, capsicum (cayenne) cream, white oak bark, witch hazel, bayberry bark, wild alum root, burnet, Dr. Christopher’s BF&C tincture or ointment, myrrh, goldenseal, hyssop, white cherry bark, yellow dock root, tansy, coral
Dietary Preventative/Healing Guidelines – Eat lots of fresh produce high in fiber as well as vitamins E, C, D, and A. Poor diet and nutrition are a large factor in the formation of varicose veins, so it’s important to make sure to get a highly nutritious diet. Limit or completely cut out dairy, processed foods, additives, white sugar, green or black tea, coffee, and alcohol. Do some type of cleansing diet. Supplements like zinc, calcium, trace minerals, and a well-rounded food-based multivitamin can be quite helpful. Get lots of healthy fats, like from fermented cod liver oil supplementation or eating lots of avocado, nuts, and seeds. Taking 2 capsules of cayenne 2–3 times a day can drastically help improve circulation to heal varicose veins. Many people also find relief by adding fresh-pressed juice to their daily regimen twice a day or more. Do the cool bath soak each morning.
Useful Essential Oils – fennel, wild orange, grapefruit, cedarwood, juniper berry, rosemary, geranium, basil, thyme (hot oil – only use if diluted), lemon, cypress, white fir, wintergreen, cinnamon, lavender, coriander, frankincense, ginger, helichrysum, black pepper, oregano, lemongrass, lime, bergamot, patchouli, clary sage, mandarin, birch, eucalyptus, tangerine, peppermint, carrot seed, angelica, petitgrain
Useful Herbs & Other Methods – celery seeds, carrot seed carrier oil, yarrow (bath soak), FasciaBlaster
Useful Tools to Use - The FasciaBlaster and More – A FasciaBlaster is incredible for breaking up the cellulite. Get even most effective results when heating and hydrating the tissues before blasting (by using a sauna, hot bath, or hot shower). Cover the skin with an essential oil rub or carrier oil. Rub the blaster up and down or diagonally (never in circular motions) in a quick motion while pushing just barely more firmly than comfort level. There are 3 main layers of fascia, and the layer affected depends on the amount of pressure applied. Often there will be a rush of circulation to an area that has been relieved, which causes a good type of bruising associated with using the FasciaBlaster. Avoid bruising or get rid of it quickly by taking arnica before and after use, as well as by pushing less firmly with the blaster. If an area does show bruising it is a good sign of progress with the fascia release and circulation. However, do not continue working on bruised or inflamed tissues, as that may cause excess inflammation that will undo the previous work.
Dietary Preventative/Healing Guidelines – If you are eating less junk food, processed grains, and sugars, and eating more whole foods with high nutritional content, that paves the way for your body to heal. Kelp is a powerful food that has a lot of the trace minerals you need. Having trace minerals in a food-based form makes them highly absorbable, and a big power boost for the body. Wheatgrass juice is also a go-to morning drink for a boost. Eat organic raw produce whenever it’s available. Zinc, trace minerals, whole-food multivitamins, omega essential fatty acid supplements, as well as vitamins B and C are also factors. Just eating WOW Factor Lifestyle meals can make a huge difference, but to truly be healthy and have the full effect, it is best to exercise and stabilize the body’s metabolism, stress, hormones, blood sugar levels, thyroid, and organ functions.
Be sure to get your blood circulating and exercise those areas where the cellulite is building up. To do this you can choose target exercises and stretches that will affect those spots, as well as vigorous massage. You can also try the exfoliating method called dry skin brushing. It is quite effective for some people. Use a good skin care program that exfoliates and tones your skin, such as is recommended in our companion guide, The Pampered Green and Clean Life: Recipes for a Healthy Body & Home. Use essential oil wraps, try the other recommendations in this chapter, drink lots of water, and be sure to eat plenty of fresh produce. These steps will help the body to flush out these toxins in problem areas of cellulite. I personally have seen a huge difference when combining these methods.
Sugarholic’s Healthy Fix – You can decrease cravings by chewing on a piece of licorice root bark throughout the day, or sipping carrot and pineapple juice. When you sip on this drink, it tells your brain you are getting a high sugar dose over a longer period of time, so you will have less withdrawal symptoms. Cold prune juice also works well for this (1994).
Junk Food & Sugar Addiction – Any addiction is unhealthy, but an addiction to sugar or junk food is often hard to overcome. You can begin to overcome an addiction to sugary or salty foods by finding naturally sweet or salty foods to replace the junk foods. For example, a handful of almonds might curb a strong craving for a munchy junk food, and cut celery sticks can fulfill your desire for something with a crunch. Keeping this type of healthy munchy foods out in a bowl on the counter where you can see it throughout the day will make it easier to choose them over the junk. Your food addictions might say something about your self-worth too. People who are insecure about themselves tend to find themselves with addictions to sugary or salty foods. People with lots of self-confidence are less prone to the cravings associated with food addiction.
Cooking using strong natural flavors like garlic, oregano, or rosemary can curb cravings for sugary or salty foods. Also, be conscious of how susceptible you are to marketing. Junk food in flashy packaging is still junk food. There is even junk food at the health food market that can draw you in. Yes, organic Oreos are just as bad for you as the regular Oreos. We have had to keep each other in check many times with the temptations at the supermarket. It’s all too easy to find yourself at the supermarket putting things in your cart because they look great, not because they will benefit you. Even the best of us succumb to flashy marketing from time to time. It takes a lot of self-discipline.

Do regular aerobic exercise or water aerobics.
Useful Dietary Guidelines – Eat plenty of highly nutritious foods, like fruit and veggies (tons of raw produce), green smoothies, fresh juices, cabbage, tomatoes, and radishes. Drink at least 8 ounces of water every hour that you are awake each day. Avoid all processed food, white flour, and milk (unless it is raw), and limit cheese, butter, potatoes, and pasta. Reduce stressors and start doing stress-relief techniques such as meditation, yoga, tai chi, walking, swimming.
Try to improve the level of positive energy in your head and heart by envisioning your weight melting away and using affirmations that bring gratitude for your body and its obedience to your will. When there is cellulite or untamed fat, often this can be tamed by exercising and strengthening the fascia with a FasciaBlaster. There are 3 layers of fascia that interlace with fat cells. When the fascia is healthy and free from restriction, poor alignment, and excess toxicity from poor diet, blasting it strengthens the fascia and tones the skin to be beautiful, and improves overall function of the body.
Useful Essential Oils – lavender, melaleuca, cypress, geranium, clary sage, helichrysum, juniper berry, patchouli, peppermint, sandalwood, frankincense, myrrh, coriander, cedarwood, peppermint, rose, myrtle, balsam fir, yarrow
Useful Homeopathy – Aesculus hippocastanum, Hamamelis virginiana

Dietary Preventative/Healing Guidelines – A diet high in fiber, salads, fruits, veggies, whole grains, and healthy fats can be helpful in preventing both hemorrhoids and piles. It’s important to get the right nutritional balance along with drinking plenty of water. Getting the foods and drinks that will help the body go more alkaline will help speed the healing process. Drink about 2 quarts of water a day for best results. Vitamin E and wheat germ oil supplements as well as aged garlic capsules can also be quite helpful when used along with the other recommendations. Yoga, along with proper exercise, helps you find balance and get the blood circulating. Slant board exercise routines may also be beneficial. Another good idea is to use a footstool or a bathroom squatting stool while on the toilet to help alleviate some of the pressure to the area, as bringing your knees up puts the internal organs in a more natural position for going potty.

For your daily needed sodium, there is plenty of naturally occurring sodium in many fruits and vegetables. Some examples of natural sources of sodium are as follows: tomatoes, asparagus, celery, spinach, kale, radishes, turnips, carrots, lettuce, strawberries, grapes, ripe bananas, orange juice, watermelon, melons, eggplant, beets, parsley, okra, collard greens, mustard, parsnips, onions, garlic, fennel, cucumbers, watercress, pumpkin, potatoes, peas, yellow corn, swiss chard, cauliflower, endive, green beans, peas, beans, lentils, lentil sprouts, other sprouts, nuts, seeds, coconut, coconut milk, almond milk, and nutritional yeast. Gentle exercise and massage are good preventative measures and may help in the healing process, as long as the body is not overworked. Baths can be quite helpful and soothing. An idea is to take two baths a day, alternating with the morning bath as a hot bath and the evening bath as a cool bath. Even just doing one of the bath soaks in this chapter without the alternating of temperature is quite helpful though. Neuromuscular and lymphatic drainage massage is highly amplified in its benefits to rid persistent edema when used with a combination of essential oils in a carrier oil. This type of massage is best when done once a week until the condition is resolved.
